The Teddy Bear Foundation 4th Annual Ball

Glamorous Glasgow pulled on its glad rags and scrubbed up beautifully for the fourth annual Teddy Bear Ball.

In what is rapidly becoming a city institution, the black tie evening once more attracted a full house at the Hilton Hotel.

Many familiar faces could be seen on the dance floor, strutting their stuff to the eight piece band, A-Side Soul.
Quite how they were able to move so freely is surprising, given the lavish nature of the food and drink which had earlier been on offer.

Again, the Hilton chefs had come up trumps with a delicious menu of Scottish Salmon, Fillet of Beef and a Rosemary and Mango Parfait.

The Dancepoint Kids had got the glittering night underway, with a sensational routine that grabbed the attention right from the start.

Then, Teddy Bear Foundation co-founder Jenny Chuwen gave a vote of thanks to all of the charity’s supporters.  Jenny also showcased examples of how the Teddy Bear money is allocated throughout the year, supported by a series of short films providing visual illustration of our work.

Those with more cash than most dreaded the introduction of Jonny Gould, the auctioneer extraordinaire, because they knew he would tease every last copper out of them.
And so it proved, with the Jolly Jonny using every trick in the book (and then some) to encourage healthy competition for a range of stunning auction prizes.

There was a Gleneagles Gourmet Package, a New York mini-break with flights from BA and the chance to enjoy hospitality at the 2013 Women's tennis final at Wimbledon.

Top chef Brian Maule, at the event as a guest, was moved to put up an impromtu offer as he was so impressed by the work of the charity.  Brian, who learned his trade at the Michelin-starred Le Gavroche in London, offered to take his team to the winner's house to cook at a dinner party.  The offer caused something of a stampede.

Oh, and one lucky lady won a diamond in the raffle supported by Glasgow Jewellers, Rox!

Co-founder Barry Chuwen said:”We are bowled over by the support which the Teddy Bear Foundation continues to receive.

“Times are hard, we know, but our friends still manage to dig deep to help the children who need it most.”
