Our Stories - Invergarven School

The shiny new bus sitting outside Invergarven School gave acting depute Jane Gordon something of a problem.
It was brilliant of former Rangers star Mark Hateley to hand it over on behalf of the Variety Club.
But the school could not afford the £1000-a-year cost of insuring the vehicle.

In stepped the Teddy Bear Foundation and suddenly, it was wagons roll!

"We have fantastic days out on our coach," said Jane.
"There are the weekly horse-riding lessons, trips to swing parks and picnics at Culzean Country Park.
"We were short of funds to insure the coach but Barry kindly stepped in to put us on the road.
"The kids love it. We go out in all weathers.
"In the past, we would have to hire transport, which could take some time to organise.
"Now, we have the freedom to go whenever we want!"

Boys from Invergarven School in Girvan get ready for a day out on their coach.
