Highland Mum

A highland single Mum was at her wits end as she prepared to take her disabled son on holiday.

The lad not only suffers from Autism but has ‘hyper mobility’ of the knee joints as well.

To compound the problem, the mum was unable to obtain a buggy which could transport her son around their holiday resort.

The only kind which would meet his needs is a three-wheeler buggy costing almost £100.

She shared her dilemma with a friend.  She said:”I have applied to places before and been turned down.

“The only kind that probably would hold his weight is a three wheeler, as the frame of them is very sturdy, but the cheapest is £98.99.

“It’s a lot of money for me, but I don't think I have much choice.”

Her friend approached The Teddy Bear Foundation and they agreed to pay for the buggy for her son. Overjoyed, she wrote to the charity when she heard the news.

She wrote:”I can not thank my friend enough for helping to get the money for my sons buggy!

“I would also like to thank the people who have granted this to me, as they have no idea what this means to me.

“Just to know, that when my sons legs are bad, I can now have the means to get him around, it means he won't have to miss out on anything.

“From the bottom of my heart I thank the people who have agreed to fund for me the buggy.  Thank you so very much.”
